Painting & Decorating Services in London

Fentora Decorators are painters and decorators covering London and the surrounding area. We take on interior and exterior painting, wallpaper hanging, period restoration, spray finishing and commercial decorating for homeowners, landlords and businesses.

Preparation is included as standard on every service below. It is most of the labour on any decorating job and all of the difference in how long the finish lasts — so it is never a separate line on the quote, and never the thing that gets cut to hit a price.

I

Interior painting

The bulk of our work. Interior painting for walls, ceilings, skirting, architrave, doors and radiators, in single rooms through to whole houses.

III

Period property restoration

Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian properties need patience and a different set of skills. We take the time older houses require.

V

Spray finishing & kitchen respraying

Spray painting for kitchen cabinets, fitted wardrobes, doors and staircases — a fraction of the cost of replacing units, and a finish you cannot get with a brush.

II

Exterior painting & render

Exterior house painting for masonry, render, fascias, soffits, gutters and front doors. Booked around realistic weather windows rather than optimistic ones.

IV

Wallpaper hanging

Wallpapering from single feature walls to full rooms, including heavier grasscloths and hand-printed papers that need a careful hand.

VI

Commercial decorating

Offices, retail units, communal areas and rental properties. Landlord and letting agent repaints between tenancies, worked around your business hours.

How a decorating job runs

The same four stages every time, whether it is one room or a whole house.

01 — Quotation

We visit, measure up and talk it through. A written quotation follows within two working days — fixed, not "from".

02 — Preparation

Everything sheeted and masked. Filling, caulking and sanding. The longest stage and the one that decides the result.

03 — Decorating

Primer where needed, then topcoats. We clean down at the end of every day rather than leaving it to the end.

04 — Handover

We walk the job with you and settle any snags there and then. Leftover paint labelled and left for touching up.

How much does painting and decorating cost?

Two rooms of identical size can differ by days of labour depending on the state of the walls, how many colour changes are involved, and whether the woodwork has been painted over a dozen times already.

Anyone quoting a fixed price per room before seeing it is either guessing or building in a margin to cover the guess. We would rather look at it and give you a real figure. Quotations are free, written and itemised, so you can see exactly what you are paying for.

Areas we cover

We are based in Central London and work across roughly a 25 mile radius, including North, South, West and East London. If you are further out, ask anyway — we will tell you honestly whether it is workable.

Common questions

No. Visits and written quotations are free and carry no obligation. We will come out, measure up and send a fixed, itemised price within two working days.

Yes, at trade price, which is usually cheaper than retail. You are welcome to supply your own if you have a particular brand or colour in mind.

Usually two to four weeks. Smaller jobs and single rooms can often be fitted in sooner — it is worth asking even if you need something quickly.

Yes. We carry £2m public liability insurance and a certificate is available on request before work starts.

Almost always. We work room by room, sheet everything before starting and clean down at the end of each day, so the rest of the house stays usable throughout.

A single bedroom with walls and ceiling is typically one to two days including preparation. A three-bedroom house repainted throughout is usually five to eight working days. Woodwork, wallpaper stripping and poor wall condition all add time.

Materials are payable in advance on larger projects. The balance is settled on completion, once you have walked the job with us and you are happy.
